I have read most of these posts and not sure what good it does! What the H-- is this crap? No one answers or responds to the cries that go out! No one advocating for this Epidmic disease process of PAS, No one knows or has heard of it! No court knows of PAS or has any case law on PAS. No one lobbies to the POWERS TO BE. The CRIES GO UNHEARD! Just STOP the crap!!! These people need real solutions. Just simply read the post, then tell how many success stories there are. Yes I have read the stories but not from the posts. Where is the lists of PAS attorneys, councelors, organizations? I have contacted several times the so called few names of the "Helper Organizations" and people and No response, I have oredered books, no response, I try to educate myself and No documentation from credible sources, how can I use this stuff in court when it is just a means to vent? It took us almost 3yrs to find information on PAS, and it was like reading our own situation, sometimes events were identical. My husband is the NCP of 2 sons who are nasty, disrespectful children. They DONT WANT to see him at all. Their mother feeds them lies...on and on. They say "we already have 2 parents", meaning their mother and grandmother. My husband has a parenting referee who is the expert on PAS for the northwest, yet we only know that because we started asking questions. There was a conference in which she was the speaker.. guess whose case study was discussed?? Yep! The judges dont know about PAS and are learning from the seat of their pants, just like everyone else. PAS isnt a DSM diagnosis either so there is no credibility. AND, there are no studies to even indicate that children are better off with 2 parents in their lives when the divorce conflict continues. We asked the referee, the mediator, and the counselor what we should do about the children. We are ready to give up on them, and the EXPERTS DONT KNOW! So, venting online does help somewhat. Knowledge helps somewhat. It is frustrating and drives me crazy.  (Last changed: February 26, 2006 )

If you are a real senator; then, what are you doing to ensure that the present systems are educating themselves about this problem? And please spare me the lecture about money when the federal government and congress spend money to restore monuments and to study "HOW TO MAKE CAT FISH DUMMIES, SO WE CAN CATCH THE EASIER." How about spending some money to educate the female judges in family court? Letting the know that what they hear is always the way it is. Or not being biased just because it's woman vs man and they are woman and have had a simular experience with divorce. Is the man get's the blunt of their experience as well as his own. So Mr Senator, please speak to us on those issues.

the only people who read this are the people who are suffering from the effects of this deadly disease. My lawyer came in to one of our meetings once all excited because he had read something about PAS in a legal journal.. Well he already had seen it in action and couldn't do any thing about it anyway. So what was the point.  Both lawyers in my divorce knew what was happening and neither of them cared about the children and the fact that they were being cut off from their entire paternal heritage, but they both were furious when my ex wife told them she had given away my tools.. They demanded that she retreive them and return them to me. 12 years later I have my tools but my kids are lost forever.Until the Judges and lawyers all can understand the man who would rather feel his chlid's arm around his neck than a hammer in his hand we are lost...  (Last changed: February 26, 2006)

I have to agree. Its senseless, but it helps to know we are not alone. Whats wrong with venting frustration with the family courts of this great country. I have learned the message the courts are preaching and it reads: "Children of divorce only need one parent and a paycheck." Dear Mr. Senator,
20 years ago, a bunch of bleeding heart intellectuals decided to excuse every type of bad behavior as a SYNDROME. The word has been over-applied and trivialized to such a degree that anything followed by the word SYNDROME is now dismissed as hyperbole. Personally, I think that PAS is a crock. Has anyone considered for a fleeting moment that there are just a lot of evil, inconsiderate, manipulative people out there, that don't give a damn who they hurt as long as it suits their needs? Regardless, getting American courts to recognize that parents...and I use that term loosely...are capable of fostering a lie of this magnitude is going to take everything short of an act of God. What we do here is provide comfort, support, and advice to those who are now, where we once were. You're welcome to the advice, but if you're just going to piss & moan, find another forum. It sounds like you've already got it all figured out anyway. BTW - SENATOR, why don't you make yourself useful and present some bills to the floor that would actually provide for some consequences for those parents that actively alienate parents from their own children, as well as some provisions that would allow alienated parents to recover their abducted children? -- Scott   (Last changed: February 26, 2006)
